Microsoft is making it easier to buy games from your phone, plus improving audio quality for the Xbox Wireless Headset this December. Xbox's December update is here, and this time it's focused on your off-console experience. The update brings new store functionality to the Xbox mobile app, as well as adding Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio support to the Xbox Wireless Headset, improving battery life and audio quality with certain Windows 11 devices. The update boasts lower latency, longer battery life, and super wideband stereo audio for voice chat. Microsoft is also previewing a new shared-audio feature on Windows 11, which will let you broadcast your game audio to multiple Bluetooth accessories. This update is currently only available to Windows Insiders on select Windows 11 PCs. To access the main firmware update for the Xbox Wireless Headset, use the Xbox Accessories app on console or any Windows 11 device. Bluetooth LE Audio is only available when using the headset with compatible Windows 11 devices. In software updates, multiple Microsoft game collections are getting new additions. The Handheld Compatibility Program, designed to make it easier to find games that are optimized for handheld play on devices like the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X, recently added two new games--Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Fortnite. The stream-your-own-game collection in Xbox Cloud Gaming also just added a heap of new titles, including Brawlhalla and Resident Evil 3. Four games are also being added soon to the Retro Classics collection on Game Pass--Codename: Iceman, Plaque Attack, Police Quest 2, and Space Shuttle. The collection currently includes over 50 classic titles, with Xbox planning to double that over time. Finally, a bunch of games are getting support for either mouse and keyboard controls, or touch controls. Check out the full list at Xbox's blog.
