Viral co-op sensation Peak still has plans to climb toward consoles, but its developers aren't sure when exactly those ports might arrive. Peak's ascension on Steam was really something to behold last year. Co-developers Aggro Crab (Another Crab's Treasure) and Landfall (TABS, Content Warning) spent more or less four weeks on a joint game jam, which eventually became both a hilarious climbing simulator and the quintessential game in the divisive 'friendslop' subgenre. The developers, collectively known as Team Peak, previously revealed plans to bring the hit game to consoles, but after months of silence, you'd be forgiven for forgetting about the ports or worrying about them altogether. Now, Team Peak promises that development on those console ports is still ongoing. "I don't know, okay?" the developer cheekily says in an unserious Q&A video posted to social media, responding to questions about Peak's console edition. "We're working on it. Porting games, let alone a game jam [project], takes a while to do. We want to, don't worry. We're really excited for when we can. And you will see a TikTok the moment we can share anything." The Peak developers have yet to confirm which consoles the co-op phenom might arrive on, but if the game's outsized success is any indication, I'm guessing it'll come to them all. Well, at least PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S. I'm not expecting a Sega Genesis port here. Elsewhere in the Q&A, we finally got some juicy, very important news about Bing Bong's love life. The love of his life is a woman named Miriam, but she's not part of whatever species Bing Bong belongs to. She's just a regular human woman. I always knew that guy had rizz. Peak's "8 bucks is still 5 bucks" view is a genuine look "behind the curtain" at "vibes pricing" across the industry, analyst says: "70 bucks seems right. All right, we'll try that."
