Ubisoft's stealthy-stabby series continues to grow. The Assassin's Creed series "exceeded" Ubisoft's expectations for the latest quarter, the French publisher has confirmed, while also providing updates on the success of the last two big games, Mirage and Shadows. In its latest earnings briefing, Ubisoft said the Assassin's Creed series overall "posted a strong performance" in the latest quarter, including sales of the newest game, Shadows, and back-catalog titles. The Assassin's Creed series had more than 211 million "session days" so far in 2025, which is about 35% higher than the average for the past two years, Ubisoft said. Ubisoft added that the recent launch of the New Game+ mode for Shadows benefitted the game, as did the Claws of Awaji expansion. The publisher said the game now stands to "reach a broader audience" when it releases for Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2. "Beyond Shadows, the rest of the Assassin's Creed back-catalog also performed strongly, highlighting the strength of the franchise," Ubisoft said. 2023's Assassin's Creed Mirage, meanwhile, got a free new update, Valley of Memory, this month and this helped double the "player activity" for the game. It's now reached more than 10 million players. In related news, Ubisoft recently opened Vantage Studios, a new "creative house" that will oversee the development of Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six. The new unit is being led by Charlie Guillemot, the son of Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. Charlie Guillemot is aware of the nepotism concerns and said he just wants to get to work.
