Arc Raiders player crowns themselves the "engineer of chaos," makes new Stella Montis map as evil as possible: "People spawning late were trapped in a maze I built, screaming"

Not seven full days out from Stella Montis being available in Arc Raiders, and players are already getting up to no good. The new map's a more claustrophobic addition to the extraction shooter, prompting one fan to become an agent of chaos using barricades to block various doors across the area. An ominously empty abandoned base burrowed deep in a mountain, Stella Montis condenses rounds of Arc Raiders into frenzied scurrying through hallways to find loot and get to extraction. Reddit user luvast0 decided to play around with the anxious energy by barricading all the doors they encountered, locking their various opponents in or out of other rooms and escape routes. "I wanted to see if Arc Raiders' barricade system could be weaponized for pure psychological warfare, and oh my God, it can," they state in a Reddit post (thanks, PCGamer). "People spawning late were trapped in a maze I built, screaming, complaining, and actively looking for me." Arc Raiders Hidden Bunker map puzzle feels like the Mount Chiliad mystery all over again, and players are breaking the laws of physics to solve it: "I found a non-corporeal wall on accident and fell out of the map" "I have to kill them before they kill me": In just one week, Arc Raiders has ruined my ability to trust, and the killer robots aren't even the problem Playing Arc Raiders solo is shockingly chill for any PvP game, let alone an extraction shooter, players say: "They'll even take me there like I can't find the eggs in the supermarket" Reactions tend to follow two steps: first, players start treating them like a "raid boss," seeking them out personally; and second, teams would find each other and find common ground over their impromptu captor. I mean, this player is certainly bringing people together, at least. They used a combined total of 65 barricades, in case you were wondering. They've now dubbed themselves the "engineer of chaos," before describing their final act of mutually assured tomfoolery. "After 20 minutes I was caught stuck in a room with no exit, and I came prepared," they write. "After all three solos entered the room I threw a smoke grenade, shut the door, BARRICADED IT, then I placed a Deadline mine killing all of us. No one leaves the maze." "Gen Z loves AI slop," says former Square Enix exec, which means that Arc Raiders' controversial AI usage is just "the tip of the spear."
