Embark Studios has released the patch notes for the latest Arc Raiders update, which details map adjustments, a nerf for the powerful Venator, and ammo changes. It also includes a welcomed surprise for duck collectors.
The most notable change in this Arc Raiders update is the nerf to the game's powerful Venator pistol. The developer says it was aware that the fully upgraded Venator was over-performing and "capable of outgunning full squads using close-range weapons." The gun's nerf includes a reduction to the fire rate gained from upgrades, and it also receives an increase in weight. The developer says the weapon's weight was not previously in line with the other pistols in the game, so the weight was increased from 2 to 5.

Another major nerf in the update affects the game's powerful Deadline mine. Players have been taking down the game's largest Arc enemies with the Deadline mines, and the developer seems to think it's been too easy to utilize, as the update makes it harder to obtain the mines. The buy value of the Deadline has been increased from 8,100 to 15,000 Coins, the crafting materials needed have also increased, and traders will now carry less stock of the mine.
Several map fixes are also included in the patch notes. The update corrects an issue where players would previously get stuck in the Dam Control Tower elevator shaft on the Dam Battlegrounds map. Adjustments are also made to the game's brand-new Stella Montis map, including spawn adjustments, collision issues, and a location at the train station that could cause players to get stuck.
Lastly, the update includes a surprise for duck collectors. While the developer doesn't specify this change, it appears from the duck-filled image included in the patch notes that players can now display more ducks in their den.
There are other smaller changes and bug fixes included in the update, and the full Arc Raiders patch notes for update 1.3.0 can be found below.
Arc Raiders recently added the new Stella Montis map and the powerful new Shredder enemy type, which has knocked out more than 2.2 million players.
Dev note: The fully upgraded Venator has been over-performing recently, capable of outgunning full squads using close range weapons. We’re re-tuning the fire-rate gained from upgrades to pull down the pacing a bit, while still keeping its damage and accuracy intact. This should encourage players to take some more time with their shots rather than mag-dumping the first poor soul they encounter. The community also rightfully pointed out that the weight of the Venator was inconsistent with the weights of our other pistols, so we’ve corrected that as well.
Dev note: We noticed that explosives dealt damage to more parts at once than intended, allowing weapons like the Hullcracker to kill larger drones too quickly. We’ve adjusted explosive damage to make it more consistent across the board, and we’ve re-balanced the damage of the Hullcracker to account for that change. This will require Hullcracker shots to need a bit more precision while still dealing good damage to the targeted spot.
