Meanwhile, rumors continue to surface saying otherwise. Next-gen Xbox hardware is currently in the works behind closed doors at Microsoft. Xbox president Sarah Bond has reconfirmed the company has new consoles internally in the pipeline, days after the launch of the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X--created in collaboration with Asus. Speaking with Variety, Bond left no doubt about Xbox's hardware plans. "We are 100% looking at making things in the future. We have our next-gen hardware in development," said Bond. A rumor bubbled up earlier in October that noted future Xbox console plans were "up in the air." A founding Xbox team member has also questioned whether Microsoft has a desire to make new hardware. Another tantalizing tidbit from the Variety story with Bond is that internally made Xbox handhelds are noted as a possibility as well. In June, it was reported that the Xbox handheld device was "essentially canceled." Last month, Microsoft raised Xbox prices again in the US. That means the entry-level Xbox Series S now costs $400 (was $380), while the Xbox Series X options start at $600 (was $550). Then, at the start of this month, Microsoft hiked the price for Game Pass Ultimate up to $30 monthly (was $20).
