Well darn, Hello Games' Sean Murray says the team working on No Man's Sky follow-up Light No Fire is "tiny" and working "in the background"

Well, it seems Light No Fire, Hello Games' follow-up to No Man's Sky, is still a long, long ways off. Hello Games founder Sean Murray made the case for No Man's Sky winning the Labor of Love award at this year's Steam Awards (h/t PC Gamer), and in doing so, gave a brief - and unfortunately fairly discouraging - update on Light No Fire. "In the background, another tiny team at Hello is continuing at pace on our next Labor of Love, Light No Fire, and we know a lot of you are keen to hear more," Murray wrote. "For now, it suffices to say that I am really pleased with the progress we are making and I think it's going to be something really special. You can wishlist it here." Light No Fire: Everything we know so far Unemployment hurts less when No Man's Sky keeps handing out massive free updates, and Voyagers just gave me a really cool ship to sweeten the deal "The darker side of the universe": No Man's Sky adds "spooky" Breach Expedition update with new solar systems as devs celebrate last big patch hitting 110,000 concurrent PC players "Tiny team"?!? Working "in the background"?!?!? Say it ain't so, Sean. I've been eager to get my hands on this game since it was revealed in 2023, if only because I'm dying to know whether it can live up to Murray and his team's ambitions. He has called the game "a truly open world, a shared Earth-sized planet, with real oceans to traverse, needing large boats and crews." It wasn't until several years post-launch that it felt like the full vision for No Man's Sky was realized, and I'm cautiously hopeful that Hello Games can deliver on Light No Fire's promise right at launch. No Man's Sky lead jokes GTA 6's impressive flip-flop physics might be why the game is delayed, is immediately met by Light No Fire hopefuls desperate for an update of their own.
