The plethora of upcoming Marvel games prove that superhero games are alive, well, and pack a serious punch in 2025. With everything from a retro-style beat-em-up to new action-adventures on the way from the makers of Uncharted, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Deathloop, and other top studios, Marvel fans everywhere are eatin' good. Most excitingly, we have a release for Marvel Cosmic Invasions - and it's set to land before the new year. In the past, we've seen some fantastic games come our way featuring lots of well-known Marvel figures, with releases like Marvel Rivals and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - to name just a few - but happily, there are still plenty of new games that will give us more super hero goodness. There's a WW2-era Marvel game from Skydance New Media that will see Black Panther team up with Captain America, and an immersive Blade third-person action epic on the cards too. We were at one stage also set to see a second upcoming Marvel game starring Black Panther, but sadly following a round of layoffs, it was confirmed that the project from Cliffhanger Games had been cancelled by EA back in May. Announced during the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, Marvel Cosmic Invasion is an upcoming beat 'em up that sports a retro-looking pixel art style. Not only does the trailers that we've seen for the game look incredibly stylish and fast-paced, but we also know that there will be 15 playable characters available to pick from in your ass kicking journey. The designs are very comic book forward though with Wolverine sporting his iconic yellow suit and Nova decked out in his classic helmet. So, if you're only familiar with the Marvel movies and shows, be prepared to go old-school here. Regardless, of new or old Marvel fans, Cosmic Invasion looks like a blast. You'll be able to pick two heroes for each level, switch between the two as you fight against an Annihilation Wave that has been launched against our universe. It's been over a decade since the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and we've been desperately anticipating Logan's return to the world of video games ever since. Happily, we at long last got to see some Marvel's Wolverine gameplay during the PlayStation State of Play September 2025 showcase. Developed by the team behind Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Insomniac teased during the show that we can expect a "darker and more brutal" experience from the studio as we take on the role of Logan. Everything already points to this being one super hero action game to watch out for. The title was unveiled in a story trailer screened during March 2024's State of Unreal showcase, giving us our first proper look at the WW2-era hero epic that's now slated to launch in 2026. The stunning cinematic trailer introduces us to a war-torn occupied Paris, and with Cap and T'Challa kicking things off in a decidedly unfriendly fashion, it looks like Uncharted's Amy Hennig is working her magic once again to deliver a rich historical action experience – this time, with superheroes. Excited doesn't begin to cover it. TBC Marvel's Iron Man Developer: Motive StudioPlatform(s): TBCRelease Date: TBC EA has announced that it is collaborating with Marvel Games to create an "all-new single-player, third-person, action-adventure Iron Man video game." Motive Studio is leading development – that's the team behind Star Wars Squadron and the Dead Space Remake – with Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy executive producer Olivier Proulx. This new EA Iron Man game entered full production in February 2023, and Motive promises that "the game will feature an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man." Marvel's Blade Developer: Arkane LyonPlatform(s): TBCRelease date: TBC Arkane Lyon, of Deathloop and Dishonored fame, is turning its hand to creating Marvel's Blade. It's going to be a "mature", single-player, third-person adventure with an original story set in a quarantined area of Paris in the middle of a supernatural emergency of a vampiric nature. The team at Arkane is seeing this as an opportunity to take its game-making into a more modern direction. When Arkane Lyon's games are already at the forefront of innovation, that makes this project even more exciting. It'll likely be some time before we learn more about it, though.
