The Plucky Squire's Deluxe Edition is bundled with an adorable art book and is only $25 in Amazon's early Black Friday video game sale. The Plucky Squire: Devolver Deluxe Edition $25 (was $40) for Switch / PS5 The Plucky Squire Standard Edition $15 (was $25) for Switch / PS5 Devolver Digital's exceedingly cute storybook adventure The Plucky Squire is on sale for a new low price in early Black Friday sales at Amazon and Best Buy. The Devolver Deluxe Edition for Switch and PS5 is up for grabs for only $25 (was $40), while the standard physical edition is just $15 (was $25). The collectible Deluxe Edition is packaged in an oversized box with a 108-page art book and a digital soundtrack. The standard edition deal is only in stock for Nintendo Switch at Amazon, but Best Buy has the $15 deal for Switch and PS5. Both physical editions launched in February with higher prices--$55 for Deluxe, $35 for standard--so you're paying less than half of the original cost of either edition. Several other Devolver Digital physical editions are on sale, including the excellent retro platformer The Messenger and the Devolver Deluxe Editions of Gris and Neva. If you're unfamiliar with The Plucky Squire, it's an adventure game that mixes multiple genres, including top-down action-adventure, side-scrolling platforming, and more. It originally released on digital storefronts last September, but the physical editions weren't ready until earlier this year. The Plucky Squire is one of those games that almost makes too much sense for the art book treatment. After all, the game shares its title with the book inside the game. You play as Jot, a character in the The Plucky Squire book where the game takes place. Unfortunately, Jot is forced out of his home by Humgrump. This sets up The Plucky Squire's unique visual and gameplay style. The Plucky Squire melds hand-drawn 2D and colorful 3D graphics as Jot ventures forth on his adventure outside and inside of the book. It's an ambitious debut game from indie studio All Possible Futures. The studio was co-founded by ex-Pokemon art director James Turner, and Jonathan Biddle, who served as creative director on another hand-drawn Zelda-like indie, The Swords of Ditto.
