The most recent version update notes for Granblue Fantasy: Relink, a gorgeous RPG that turned the universe of a complex gacha game into a compelling action powerhouse, were published on June 28, 2024. But after 19 months of nothingness so final, so unmoving, that I was convinced we'd seen the end, developer Cygames has announced a surprise expansion for Relink, titled Endless Ragnarok, coming on July 9, 2026 – two years later, almost to the day, since the last patch.
Endless Ragnarok was revealed during Thursday's third-party Nintendo Direct showcase (ahead of a longer, dedicated reveal from Cygames later tonight). The DLC announcement comes bundled with the Switch 2 debut of the game, which originally launched on PC, PS4, and PS5. I put 130 hours into it on PS5, and it ended up being one of my favorite games of 2024.
The reveal trailer for Endless Ragnarok features new and returning Granblue Fantasy: Relink characters, and seems to pick up after the events of the main story quest. Multiple new playable heroes are shown, and there looks to be a new system for summoning old bosses to fight for you.

Upcoming RPGs for 2026 and beyond
Romancing Saga, a Square Enix JRPG released in 1992, remade in 2005, and remastered in 2022, gets yet another re-release: "I had always wanted to make a grand fantasy RPG in the style of The Lord of the Rings"
A freshly minted page on the game's website warns of Ragnalia, "powerful monsters who herald the end of times." The DLC will introduce new tiers of co-op quests, additional bosses, and a solo mode called the Conflux. Alongside summons, we'll have new "master traits" that further enhance characters.
Perhaps most importantly, the Switch 2 release will also usher in full crossplay across all platforms. If you already own Relink, you can get Endless Ragnarok for $29.99. The game and the DLC goes for $59.99. Personally, I'm just happy to have an excuse, any excuse, to hit more dragons as Zeta, Narmaya, and Siegfried.
