Supports win games, so Elden Ring Nightreign's new Scholar class looks like a must-play – and like a direct counter to the infamous gank boss Libra

Disruption is afoot for Elden Ring Nightreign. A new class has been revealed for the soulsborne boss rush, the Scholar, who provides support from further back in the play area, something that should be useful indeed.
As the moniker implies, the build is centred on someone who's studied Limveld. They've looked at the plants, investigated the ruins, and you better believe they've read all the lore – exhaustively so, by the looks of things. Through all this carnal knowledge, they wield abilities that can weaken enemies and provide hearty buff to their allies.
The trailer includes examples of both, as the character utilizes a projectile spell to stop a heinous Nightlord and their minions from moving forward. This then allows two Nightfarers to gain the advantage in the encounter, taking on a gigantic monster each and doing well for themselves.
Elden Ring Nightreign's The Forsaken Hollows DLC teases a boss fight against 7 enemies, and the community is living in fear: "This fight is either gonna be one of the best, or one of the worst"
Elden Ring Nightreign's Deep of Night mode is out today, and it's "high-difficulty" even by FromSoftware standards: new red-tier gear, 3 more relic slots, and uber-buffed enemies
Elden Ring Nightreign gets its Deep of Night easy button, but it's not enough – FromSoftware's new patch also buffs the roguelike action RPG's players while nerfing various bosses
Next up is the more exciting part, with the Scholar taking on the infamous Libra. Through their spells, gleamed from a tome they carry into the arena, because of course they do, their allies get some form of advantage that seems to make Libra's spawn considerably easier. Scholars have a cane for close combat, too, but since it gets shattered in one swing from a big sword in a clip, I wouldn't count on it beyond emergencies.
As is typical of FromSoftware, we just have what's in this video for details right now. But there isn't long to wait before we can start creating builds based on the Scholar and see what they’re made of. It arrives, alongside another class, the Undertaker, with the Elden Ring Nightreign The Forsaken Hollows DLC on December 4.
