Super Mario Galaxy - Rosalina's Storybook (Hardcover)
The physical edition of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 is on sale for $59 (was $70) at Woot. The deal is part of the Amazon-owned retailer's Video Game Mega Sale, which runs through January 20. Woot sells a mix of North American and region-free international editions of Switch and Switch 2 games, but the Super Mario Galaxy collection is the North American release.
The impressive remasters run in 4K resolution on Nintendo Switch 2, so the first Mario Galaxy is markedly better than the version in Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Plus, both of these Wii-era hits hold up extremely well. If you love 3D platformers, both Mario Galaxy games are must-play adventures that are in top form on Nintendo's new hardware.
While you're picking up Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, you should check out Amazon's deal on the hardcover edition of Rosalina's Storybook. Fans can also preorder the upcoming Mario and Rosalina Amiibo figures ahead of their April 2 launch.
The free Switch 2 upgrade is available to anyone who purchases physical or digital editions of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2.
In docked mode, the games run in 1080p on Switch and 4K on Switch 2. Each game supports conventional button/stick controls as well as motion controls for those who want to stick with the original experience from the Wii games. Like several other modern Mario games, Assist Mode has been added to make these platformers more approachable for newcomers and youngsters.
Nintendo partnered with Dark Horse to release Super Mario Galaxy's in-game storybook as a real hardcover book on November 25. The 112-page book includes full-color illustrations and every chapter from the original Wii game.
The in-game storybook in the Switch 2 version of Mario Galaxy has a new chapter, but it's not included in the hardcover book.
Rosalina's Storybook is currently on sale for $17.49 (was $25) at Amazon.
Nintendo's pair of Super Mario Galaxy Amiibo release April 2, one day before The Super Mario Galaxy Movie premieres in theaters.
The Mario and Luma Amiibo is available to preorder for $40 at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The base of the new Amiibo is designed to resemble one of the planets from the game. It captures Mario's lift-off animation when using a Launch Star to travel between planets.
The Rosalina and Lumas Amiibo has been more challenging to find in stock at some major retailers. As of January 13, you can preorder the figure at Best Buy and Target. Preorders are sold out at Amazon and Walmart.
The Amiibo includes two Lumas, who listen intently as Rosalina reads from the storybook that fans can now buy in actual book form.
It's also worth noting that the Super Smash Bros. Rosalina & Luma Amiibo received a reprint last fall, and it's in stock at Target for $20.
