Despite terrible performance, Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds has sold over 11 million copies, but its momentum seems to have stalled somewhat.
Monster Hunter Wilds issues are well-known at this point. While the game itself suffered from some difficulty balancing issues, that's been overshadowed by the game's terrible performance – especially on PC. This has included updates that still fell short of impressing the RPG's fans, and a bizarre DLC bug that allowed certain areas of the game to run better when someone had all of the game's DLC installed
In the company's latest financial results, Capcom confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds has breached the 11 million units sold mark. This has allowed it to overtake Devil May Cry 5 and become Capcom's eighth-best-selling game of all time.

However, despite that new milestone, the latest Monster Hunter release is barely clinging on to the company's top 10 best-sellers of the last quarter. Both Monster Hunter Rise and its expansion, Sunbreak, outperformed Wilds. This was the case in the last quarter too, so it seems like Rise is picking up wins while Wilds continues to struggle.
The rest of the top 10 was mostly made up of Resident Evil titles with Street Fighter 6 crossing the 6 million sold mark, although it and Resident Evil 7 were switched on the document, listing the fighting game as having sold 16 million. Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 5 has sold a further 2.4 million copies since April 2025, so even if the quality of that Netflix series was somewhat dubious, it's clearly done a lot for the games.
