Mewgenics genius discovers the true strength of the roguelike's skill synergies, creating an infinite fly generator that bullies bosses into not even showing up to battle

A Mewgenics player has managed to stop a boss from showing up to a fight entirely by the sheer power of fly infestation. Mewgenics is a game with some wild synergies, both in terms of how strong you can get and what those synergies actually are. I can't say I've ever noted down "Crohn's Disease has excellent synergy" before, which feels like a sentence that has never been published before now, but turns out that a cat that poops all over the arena at random intervals works really well with the item that makes any poop spawned into a sentient being who will join your team. However, one user over on the Mewgenics subreddit has discovered a synergy so strong that the game's bosses are too scared to square up to it. The user writes, "Turns out you win automatically if the boss can't spawn!" with a screenshot showing a battlefield filled to the brim with flies, with the boss "one baby spider" stuck in the corner, with the user confirming that the baby spider will simply run away from the fight. Animal Crossing retired Mr. Resetti but his anger lives on in indie roguelike hit Mewgenics, which will aggressively tell you off for save scumming After 20 hours I've fallen in love with Mewgenics, the only roguelike chaotic enough to let me train necromancer cats Mewgenics was in development for 14 years, but these top five features prove it was all worth it Turns out you win automatically if the boss can't spawn! from r/mewgenics The user explained the synergy that made this happen, and it all comes down to the Butcher Collar's ability to create and tame flies. The Butcher's Duke of Flies passive has every food pickup on the map turn into a fly, Incubator has you spawn flies whenever you heal over max HP, and the Butcher+ skill will allow you to kill every unit with 3 or less health, healing you for 5 health every time. Given that flies are typically 1HP, this will kill all of your own flies, heal you, and drop a ton more flies onto the map. Anyone who played The Binding of Isaac will know that the right synergy will absolutely trivialise the game, turning even the hardest bosses into pushovers, and it seems like Mewgenics is carrying on that legacy with even more unhinged synergies. Although, since "one baby spider" is a regular enemy that leads to a bigger boss once you kill it, I'm not sure this strategy can stop other bosses from making an appearance, but you can definitely do some damage with your fly army.
