Ghost of Yotei Legends, a big multiplayer update for Sucker Punch's latest open-world hit, is coming on March 10 with four-player co-op and six new bosses in tow. Legends will be free to all Yotei owners.
Announced at today's big State of Play live show, Ghost of Yotei Legends seems to echo Ghost of Tsushima's own Legends mode. The now-demonic Yotei Six will pit players, equipped with class-based abilities, against fantastically big-and-bad bosses described as spider, oni, kitsune, and snake demons.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Sucker Punch senior communications manager Andrew Goldfarb confirms that Yotei Legends will launch with three mission types.

Ghost of Yotei New Game Plus mode explained
Survival mode drops four players into "waves of increasingly difficult enemies on one of four maps" to fight for territory control.
Story mode is for two players and covers 12 missions, with each set of three missions unlocking an Incursion-type mission, "which is a large-scale four-player assault on a stronghold belonging to a member of the Yotei Six."
You may have noticed that the spider, oni, kitsune, and snake only cover two-thirds of the Yotei Six. Goldfarb says the other two will be added through a raid coming in April, "where you can expect to take on the Dragon and Lord Saito himself."
Speaking of fours, Yotei Legends' classes are: samurai, archer, mercenary, and shinobi. All four classes can use katana and ranged weapons, but each "excel in a different one of Ghost of Yōtei’s weapon and combat systems." Respectively, the classes can also use the odachi, spear, dual katanas, and kusarigama.
"Beyond the loot you earn as you level up, you can also earn additional Legendary weapons and gear as you tackle higher difficulty challenges," Sucker Punch says.
The PlayStation State of Play opened with exactly what I wanted: a short game, in the form of a Kena: Bridge of Spirits sequel "with PlayStation Studios' support."
