Epic acknowledges that people cannot play the game.
As America heads into a long holiday weekend for Thanksgiving, one of the most popular games on the planet, Fortnite, is encountering some significant issues. Epic Games has acknowledged server struggles for Fortnite, with players unable to get into the game at all.
As usual with any outage, your mileage may vary. But the issues today with Fortnite were severe and prolonged enough for Epic to release a statement addressing the matter.
The issues appear to be related to a log-in bug affecting the Epic Games Store and games that utilize Epic Online Services. "We'll provide an update ASAP as we have more info, and the issue is fixed," the company said.
Reports have also pointed to issues today with other games and gaming services, including Xbox Live, Apex Legends, and Battle.net, among others.
The Fortnite server issues are cropping up just ahead of the end of the current Simpsons collaboration and the start of Chapter 7 on November 29.
The Fortnite Zero Hour event that kicks off Chapter 7 takes place on Saturday, November 29, at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM GMT. Then on November 30 at the same time, The Lost Chapter: Yuki's Revenge will begin in Fortnite. This is the Quentin Tarantino collaboration regarding a previously untold Kill Bill story.
We will update this post with more information about Fortnite's server status as it becomes available.
