Highguard's developer, Wildlight Entertainment, has confirmed the game's first patch has been submitted and is waiting to be approved by platform holders.
On the PlayHighguard Twitter account, the developers says "We've been quieter today as we worked on the new patch. It's complete, submitted, and we're waiting on platform approval with the rest of you. You'll get prompted to update when it gets pushed through!"
While the Tweet itself doesn't feature any exact details, the developers did previously post about some of the feedback it's getting, saying, "We've been listening to feedback and working to add some highly requested features, including FoV sliders for consoles, toggle settings for ADS & crouch, and more graphics scaling options for PC." Plus, the devs responded to one player asking about the Highguard Twitch drop, and said the team is "working through that."
Highguard: Everything you need to know about the new F2P shooter
New FPS Highguard has a full year of updates "deep in development," split up to counteract "live-service fatigue"
New FPS from Titanfall devs shows signs of life after weeks of radio silence, and just days before its release date
After an awkward reveal at The Game Awards and then over a month of radio silence, Highguard had a real uphill battle to fight. The game debuted to "Mostly Negative" reviews on Steam – and while I wasn't particularly interested in the game, a rating like that within a few hours doesn't really make me feel like people have given it a fair shake. However, there have been some performance-related complaints that the developers seem keen to address as soon as possible.
The developers have confirmed that we'll see the full patch notes once the update goes live, which will hopefully tackle a majority of the issues players are having with the game on a technical side.
