Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S owners can soon enjoy Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, and Square Enix is celebrating by making the blockbuster JRPG even more fun. Features that create what is essentially god mode have now been added, giving you extra reason to jump back in if you were already done with the adventure. Just short of six years since the first part of the Final Fantasy 7 re-imagining landed on PlayStation 4, Xbox and Switch 2 players get to visit Midgar for themselves on January 22. To make the wait more worthwhile, they're getting the upgraded Intergrade version, which improves the already stunning aesthetics and streamlines the loading speeds. But that’s not all: Streamlined progression is being introduced across all platforms, with the option to keep your MP and HP meters and ATB gauge set to max and land 9,999 on every blow. You can literally go around bonking, slicing, and shooting every enemy and boss to your heart's content. Party time! Square Enix is "actively considering" Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 DLC, Naoki Hamaguchi says, or maybe even another installment entirely: "Things are really up in the air" "It's really fateful" – Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director on charting a new course for the JRPG series with a return to Nintendo, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and outdoing AI Final Fantasy 7 Remake lead says he and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 director agree "games are meant to be diverse" Thankfully, no one will be left out, as this'll arrive as a patch for PS5 and PC players, while Xbox and Switch 2 fans will have it out of the box. Although this adds a fun wrinkle for players who may already have completed the game, the real utility here is for those who wish to bypass combat encounters. These settings mean one can breeze through fights with ease - and a considerable amount of fireworks from all the special moves - to unlock the narrative and maximize their enjoyment of other elements. Final Fantasy 7 might be my favorite in the series, and a lot of my playtime in Remake went towards doing side-quests and just feeling out this rendition of Midgar and its people. It's a beautiful game, and I'm glad not only that more players get to check it out, but that there are even more ways to make sure people have an optimal experience. Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, the sequel, is due on Xbox Series X/S and Switch some time this year, and I hope to see something similar in that, too. Final Fantasy 7 Remake lead says Barret grew on him during the remake trilogy because "there were limits" to what the devs could do with the character in the original JRPG.
