Fallout 5's "obvious" setting would be New Vegas, says Fallout: London lead, but it's not the location he'd choose: "I would say Texas"

With every new Fallout game, we get to play in a new corner of Bethesda's post-apocalyptic world, and it's always a big point of conversation: Which state or city will we see in radioactive ruins this time? The project lead behind Fallout: London unofficially took the series across the pond, but he has some other settings on his wishlist for whenever Fallout 5 inevitably comes out. Speaking to Esports.net, Team Folon's Dean Carter says that the "the obvious place to go next is back to New Vegas" even though that's not his ideal scenario. Fallout Season 2 did just recreate the beloved setting in live action, so it's not too outside the realm of possibility, but I wouldn't say it's especially likely considering the series is known for switching it up every time. "I would say Texas," the lead modder says of his own dream Fallout 5 setting. "You've got interesting things you could caricature down there, and I think for me it's actually part of why I find Fallout 76 to be a bit boring. The world space is great, but the characters are just a bit generic. We know this because they had to import so much from the other settings and change the lore so we had the Brotherhood of Steel and various other bits to make it more interesting and recognizable." Ex-Bethesda artist hopes Fallout 5 is set down South, but echoes former GTA lead in thinking farther than that might "backfire" Bethesda design director wants a Fallout 5 you could play for 600 hours because "that's the kind of games we make" Fallout 5: Everything we know so far, and what we hope to see Carter goes on to say those problems wouldn't really arise in a potential Fallout 5: Texas because "the place is already a living caricature of itself so they would have a lot to work with." Elsewhere, the developer behind one of the biggest conversion mods in the series said Bethesda should maybe start to think about selling off The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Fallout narrator and Hollywood legend Ron Perlman says he joined the RPG franchise for "$40 and a sandwich," wondered "why?" after being informed there was more than one game.
