Devil May Cry actor Brian Hanford has reacted to the rumors of Devil May Cry 6 being announced at State of Play this week, but insists he knows nothing. Earlier this week, the GamingLeaksAndRumours Subreddit posted a rumour about Devil May Cry 6 possibly appearing in a State of Play since confirmed. And since Sony announced there will be a showcase later this week, naturally, some have run with it. Given it's only been two years since Dragon's Dogma 2 released, a number of names you'd associate with DMC have left Capcom as of late, and Nero's voice actor Johnny Young Bosch was publicly calling for a sixth entry last year, I can't say I buy it. But Hanford – who plays V in Devil May Cry 5 – responded to the rumour with a simple "Ummmmmmmmmm" with the shifty eyes emoji for good measure. And after fans picked up on it, he responded to Genki_JPN on Twitter, saying "Trust me, if I knew anything, I’d say has. Just out here getting excited about rumors and tweets." Capcom wants to build Devil May Cry into a "core IP" like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter "I have zero news" about Kingdom Hearts 4, Kairi actor clarifies after fans thought they might have revealed a spoiler Cyberpunk: Edgerunners actor has spoken to CD Projekt Red about season 2 and "what they have planned next for the franchise" but "truly" doesn't know if that involves David Trust me, if I knew anything, I’d say has. Just out here getting excited about rumors and tweets 😂February 10, 2026 And given that V's role in the wider story of Devil May Cry should theoretically be done since he was the human half of Vergil the whole time, I'm inclined to believe him. It wouldn't be the first time Hanford has gotten fans excited about something that doesn't exist either, as back in 2020 he Tweeted that he was "absolutely pumped" about a new Capcom VS game that never materialized. Although, this would not be the first time that a Devil May Cry voice actor has spilled the beans. Vergil actor Dan Southworth said "now they're going to bring us back" in a Devil May Cry actor panel back in 2015, casually revealing that Devil May Cry 5 was on the way. And granted, Southworth talked about being asked to do a "younger Vergil" voice for a video game in a panel back in 2024, but I'm still not getting my hopes up.
