With A Trace seems like a simple quest in Arc Raiders, but you might run into a few issues when trying to complete it. With A Trace is a quest given to you by Shani in Arc Raiders, and while it might seem simple at first glance, it can be one of the more confusing quests you'll go on during the early game. The quest only takes place on one map, the Blue Gate, and requires you to visit a couple of key locations. While those locations are technically laid out for you in the quest description, you'll struggle if you solely try to follow those instructions. With A Trace entirely takes place on the Blue Gate map, so you can complete it in a single run if you can manage to stay alive and visit all of the necessary locations. The first objective you're tasked with is going to the Barren Clearing location on the Blue Gate, which is located on the far western side of the map and near the Village point of interest. This is somewhat near an extraction point, so you'll want to be cautious heading there if you happen to spawn farther away. At Barren Clearing, you'll see a large ARC machine in the center of a clearing. Approach the machine, which is a robot with legs, and go around to the southwest side of it. This puts you in front of one of the robot's legs, which is severed from the robot's body. Here, there will be a large, spherical grey object that's on the ground in front of the robot's leg. If you approach the object, you'll see an "Investigate" prompt appear on the screen. Choose to investigate the object, and this completes your first objective in the With A Trace quest. For the next part of With A Trace, you have to visit an area called Adorned Wreckage. This isn't too far from Barren Clearing; just head a bit south. Adorned Wreckage is found southwest of Raider's Refuge and Trapper's Glade if you zoom in on your map. Adorned Wreckage is often filled with Arc enemies, so make sure you have some sort of weapon equipped to deal with them. At Adorned Wreckage, the quest leads you to believe that you have to interact with a piece of wreckage like you did at Barren Clearing. However, all you have to do is go to the location and find a small cylindrical machine to the northeast of the central wreckage. This is found on the Trapper's Glade side of the Adorned Wreckage location, for reference. At this cylindrical machine, you'll see a small, yellow computer that's placed on a table in front of the machine. Interact with the computer to complete the With A Trace quest in Arc Raiders. You don't need to extract to claim your rewards from Shani back in Speranza.
