Why spend time plucking weeds when you can pay someone else to do it? By Chris Pereira and S.E. Doster on January 12, 2026 at 12:20PM PST Pulling weeds can be a huge chore in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but there are some ways to pluck all those pesky weeds from your island that require a lot less effort. If you are a new player or someone who's been away from their island for a while, you'll want to know all your options for getting rid of weeds. In this guide, we break down all the different ways to de-weed your island without hand-plucking them all yourself. The first option is to enact the Horizons Beautiful Island ordinance. Setting up this ordinance will cause your villagers to finally chip in and help to spruce up the island, be it by watering flowers, retrieving junk from the water, or picking weeds. That should help to keep weeds at bay over time. To get started, talk to Isabelle at the Resident Services building and select the "review island features" dialogue option. From there, you can choose "discuss ordinances" and then select the one you want to enact. Enacting an ordinance will cost you a fee of 20,000 bells, and it'll take a day for it to go into effect on the island. This is the slower method, but it's also cheaper than the others mentioned below. Leif will gladly help you get rid of all the weeds on the island, but the service comes at a hefty fee of 100,000 Bells or more. This service process takes one day to complete, but it will remove all the weeds from your island in one go. As an added bonus, the weeds Leif collects will be thrown in the recycle box at Resident Services, letting you retrieve them to either sell back to him for a profit or keep them to use in crafting. Starting on January 15 with New Horizon's 3.0 update, you can use Resetti's Reset Service, which is a new feature that gives you the ability to clear out flowers, furniture, and more in bulk. This also includes weeds, trash, and anything else that needs clearing. You can choose to have Resetti clear a small portion of the island, just the beach area, or \ the entire island. The price details aren't known at this time, but it will likely be an expensive service with various price points depending on how much of the island you hire Resetti to clean.
