A Norwegian store is offering a free copy of GTA 6 to anyone who has a baby on the day it releases. Dumb marketing stunts are nothing new. The golden era of this was when Acclaim was around, with stunts like 'call your baby Turok,' 'we'll cover the cost of any speeding ticket you get when Burnout 2 releases,' and, of course, 'let us advertise Shadow Man 2 on your gravestone.' However, since they went bankrupt, it's gotten a little rarer, with only the occasional "name your baby Dovahkiin for free Bethesda games." Norwegian electronics retailer Komplett (via Dexerto) has launched a campaign promising that anyone who has a baby born on GTA 6's November 19, 2026, release date will get a free copy of the game. With ads emerging saying "GTA 6 dropping in 9 months ;)", encouraging people to start bumping uglies for Rockstar. As far as I can tell, there's no guarantee that you'll get a free GTA 6 copy if the game is delayed once again, which is always a real threat, no matter how much Take Two makes it seem otherwise. And also what if it gets one of those stupid releases where you can play extra to get it a week early, do people who give birth on that day get that version? Also – not that I imagine anyone is seriously considering bringing life into this world for a copy of GTA – raising a baby is going to cost you a hell of a lot more than the amount of Krone GTA 6 will cost when it launches. And of course, you almost certainly aren't going to have enough time to play GTA 6 while raising a newborn. So, just in case you considered trying this out, I'd not recommend it. As everyone continues to fear $80 GTA 6, Take-Two CEO wants to "deliver way more value than what we charge."
